Food writer, broadcaster and author Caroline Hennessy has been focused on food and writing since editing Ireland’s first food website for RTÉ in 2000. Chair of the Irish Food Writers’ Guild, she established the award-winning Bibliocook: All About Food in 2005, is the author of two books about beer and food and has a column in the Irish Examiner in which she writes about small food producers and the ways in which they develop and maintain a sustainable local food system.

    Coffee is important. Keen to get your opinion of coffee and the cafe culture during your time in NZ.I wish I had discovered this blog sooner to hear about the NZ adventure as it was happening. But just as fortunate since I can read the archives and will enjoy the Irish tales as well.Cheers!

    Thanks for your comment Mary. I have very definite thoughts on NZ cafés (andespecially Irish vs NZ cafés) but I’m going to try and work up a piece about it and post it in the next day or so.

    Breakfast at Joe’s Garage sounds fab! Your blog is making me homesick for New Zealand…
