Oven fun – again! – at cookery demo: Upsidedown Banana and Cardamom Cake


Food writer, broadcaster and author Caroline Hennessy has been focused on food and writing since editing Ireland’s first food website for RTÉ in 2000. Chair of the Irish Food Writers’ Guild, she established the award-winning Bibliocook: All About Food in 2005, is the author of two books about beer and food and has a column in the Irish Examiner in which she writes about small food producers and the ways in which they develop and maintain a sustainable local food system.

    Oh I can imagine your stress. It is soooo much easier to do these things at home isn’t it. I mean that oven might have been like mine … set it to 190c and it really means 200C. Well done you and super mom!

    There’s nothing like a cookery demonstration to concentrate the mind, is there?! I really should start carrying an oven thermometer around with me. At least that would give me some control over one variable. As to the size of the oven, that’s a whole other situation!
