Right now, I really can’t think of a better way to have spent a day, nay, a weekend – bliss is right! And while a wood-fired oven would be nice (eh, note the understatement there!), for now I’m working on the idea of having a counter top big enough to knead comfortably on without having to deconstruct my kitchen first!

I know, I know! There are a lot of things on the list before that wood-fired oven (flooring, curtains, insulated windows) but someday it will happen.

While I have enough counter space for kneading, it’s a little high. The Husband came home yesterday to find myself and Little Missy on stools at the counter, kneading dough – the only way that I can get a good heft at it!

Lovely account Caroline – hilarious that you were spotted as bakers on the ferry on the way home!

Ah well, when we tumbled on to the ferry with bags and bags of sweet-smelling bread, I guess there wasn’t a chance that we’d be missed!
