I’m not great at scones either – but I had success recently with the can of lemonade recipe…only I didn’t have any lemonade and used soda with a lemon twist. The best scones I’ve ever made.

Barbara: sounds intriguing! I’ve never heard of the can of lemonade method. Have you got a recipe somewhere you could direct me to?

Princess of Scones and her royal servant aka Fiona: Glad to hear that you’ve been successful with this recipe in your scone making lives. You must be pretty good at making scones, although I suspect that you leave it mostly up to your mothers…

Did you add ginger to the Date Scone mixture or just leave the dates out altogether? Mmmm…I’m thinking of Ginger Scones, flecked with chunks of crystallised ginger – would fit in nicely with my current ginger kick!
